13 More Militants Killed in ‘Operation Shaban’ as Security Forces Intensify Balochistan Offensive
The operation, involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police, has intensified across the province's rugged mountainous terrain, where security forces continue ground and aerial operations against militant hideouts.
Security sources said 26 militants had already been killed during operations conducted on July 6 and 7, while the latest actions over the past 24 hours resulted in the elimination of 13 additional militants.
The sources added that security forces have tightened the cordon around militant strongholds, with multiple intelligence-based and aerial operations continuing in different parts of Balochistan.
Separately, militants attempted to attack a police station in Zehri, Khuzdar, on Friday morning. The assault was successfully repelled, and security forces responded swiftly. According to security sources, eight militants were killed during the counter-operation, while reports suggest that five to six more militants were eliminated in subsequent helicopter-assisted operations.
Security officials stated that, since July 5, a total of 75 militants have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations across Balochistan.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, Balochistan Police, and other security agencies for their successful operations. He reiterated the government's resolve to eliminate terrorism and said the entire nation stands united with the security forces in the fight against militancy.
