7 Family Members Dead After Tourist Boat Capsizes in Swat’s Saifullah Lake
According to initial reports, the tourists onboard the boat belonged to Punjab. District administration officials said the boat, carrying tourists, capsized in Saifullah Lake, triggering an immediate rescue operation.
Authorities confirmed that nine members of a single family were onboard the boat when the accident occurred. Rescue teams recovered seven bodies, while efforts are still underway to locate the remaining two missing persons.
The district administration stated that local authorities and volunteers are actively participating in the search operation. Upon receiving information about the incident, emergency response teams from Rescue 1122 Swat rushed to the scene along with ambulances.
Rescue teams carried out emergency operations and recovered the victims from the lake. According to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Swat, all recovered bodies were shifted to Kalam Hospital via ambulances for further procedures.
The tragic incident has raised concerns over tourist safety measures at recreational lakes, as locals and authorities continue searching for the missing family members.
