Insufficient funds causing problems in Patient Welfare Association, who are working as Non-governmental Institution, as they are not admitting more thalassemic patients in Civil Hospital Karachi.

Patient Welfare Association is a non governmental organization, working in Civil Hospital of Karachi where they treat the Thalassemic patients free of cost.

Due to insufficient funds in last months new Thalassemic patients are not being registered in the day care center.

Parents of these Thalesemia patients are facing a lot of difficulties as these patients come from Karachi as well as from the whole province for treatment.

A doctor of working in day care unit said our center wants to register the new patients but due to lack of funds we cannot register more Thalassemic patients as each patient is in need to transfused blood twice a month.

Parents should get their children tested for Thalassemia before getting them married so that the disease could be limited.
