families of mastung blast victim’s stage sit-in along with dead bodies.

The families who lost their relatives in the Mastung suicide bombing staged a sit-in on Alamdar Road in Quetta on Wednesday (January 22), and refused to bury the dead bodies.

A shutter-down strike was observed in most parts of Quetta city; Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch arrived for condolence to victims at the Combined Military Hospital to express solidarity with the protesters at Alamdar Road.

Some of the injured are reportedly in critical condition.

After frequent attacks on the Hazara community on Taftan-Quetta highway despite stringent security arrangements, Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said his government is now considering the option of ferry service for the Shia pilgrims.

Yesterday, a suicide blast ripped through two pilgrims’ buses killing at least 23 and injuring over 35 in Bolochistan’s district mastung.

The two buses were part of a convoy carrying 103 pilgrims, including women and children, who were returning from Iran.

The banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LJ) has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on the bus of pilgrims in Daringar area of Mastung district, which claimed 23 lives besides injuring 35 others.
