mastung blast victims laid to rest amid tight security.

Amid tight security, the Hazara community buried their 26 dead in the Marriabad and Hazara Town graveyards on Friday(January 24) .

 The burials followed a late-night agreement of the Shia Hazara community to end its 48-hour-long sit-in in the wake of government assurances that the elements behind the attack would be brought to book. 

Funeral were attended by a large number of people mostly belonging to the Hazara tribe, besides Hazara political leaders.

Twenty-two dead were buried at Bahisht-e-Zehra graveyard Marriabad and four were buried in the Hazara Town graveyard. 

Heavy contingent of Frontier Corps (FC), police and law enforcement agencies were deployed en route the funeral procession and around the graveyards to maintain the law and order situation. However, no unpleasant incident was reported.

On Tuesday (January 21) A Suicide blast ripped through two pilgrims’ buses killing at least 23 and injuring over 35 in Bolochistan’s district Mastung.

The two buses were part of a convoy carrying 103 pilgrims, including women and children, who were returning from Iran.

The banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LJ) has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on the bus of pilgrims in Daringar area of Mastung district, which claimed 23 lives besides injuring 35 others.
